Job Description: Participates in and supports all aspects of healthcare food service operations. Works with facility staff to provide optimal nutritional care and demonstrates excellent customer service to patients, guests, and staff. Qualifications:
  • No work experience necessary
  • High School Diploma/GED OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Allergen and Food Handler Certification. *Can be obtained within 30 days of hire.
Responsibilities:
  • Must follow the rules and guidelines for handling food in healthcare settings. This includes checking and maintaining proper temperatures, avoiding mixing foods together, and keeping personal hygiene in mind.
  • Must label food correctly and store it properly, following regulations and facility rules.
  • Prepares and serves food according to the menu and dietary requirements, using the right tools and equipment in the kitchen.
  • Knows the ingredients used in recipes to answer questions or accommodate food allergies.
  • Strives to provide a great experience for patients and customers by following organizational standards. This includes making sure meals are served in the right portions and look appealing.
  • May be responsible for different tasks like handling cash, serving in the retail area, preparing and delivering patient trays, doing prep work for cold foods, cleaning dishes, assisting with catering, maintaining inventory, and cleaning work areas.

Job Description: The Environmental Services Tech I is responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment.  While executing the assigned responsibilities, the EVS Tech will have contact/interactions with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff.  Responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient throughput within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services technician, in accordance with organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention and patient experience. Qualifications:
  • High School diploma/GED NOT required.
  • Can understand and apply different levels of disinfection, such as low and intermediate, to effectively clean and sanitize different areas.
  • Can explain the differences between levels of disinfection clearly, both in speech and in writing, and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where it is necessary.
  • Can operate necessary equipment/machines.
  • Effectively uses computers and mobile devices.
  • Can show respect towards others by actively listening to their opinions and ideas.
  • Communicates openly and honestly, both verbally and in writing, fostering an environment where colleagues and team members feel comfortable doing the same.
  • Demonstrates respect by attentively considering viewpoints and ideas shared by others.
  • Capable of working without close supervision.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for cleaning and disinfecting patient areas, equipment, and common areas daily.
  • Uses knowledge of healthcare cleaning and disinfection principles to perform duties safely and correctly.
  • Must follow safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines to create a safe environment.
  • Takes part in improving departmental performance, including patient experience and cleanliness.
  • Keeps cleaning cart, supplies, and equipment organized as per the established standards.
  • Handles waste disposal properly and follows regulations for different types of waste.
  • Follows infection prevention practices, including cleaning protocols, hand hygiene, and wearing protective equipment.
  • Respects patient privacy requirements (HIPAA).
  • Thinks critically and takes personal responsibility for actions.
  • Finds and uses the right resources to solve problems and address concerns.
  • Understands and follows safety rules in the facility.
  • Can operate and take care of all cleaning tools and equipment properly.
  • May be asked to do different tasks as needed, like setting up conference rooms, cleaning stairwells and elevators, and hanging curtains.
  • Might be asked to help and guide new employees in Environmental Services Tech I role.
  • Can work well with others as part of the patient care team.
  • May have additional duties assigned as needed.
